WFO Radio NHRA Nitro goes in depth on NHRA Pro Stock with Allen Johnson and Drew Skillman before the MOPAR Mile High Nationals. Johnson [57:50] discusses his success at Bandimere Speedway over the last decade and his ideas for improving the category. Skillman [1:42:40] gives the details of his recent victory in Chicago, his predictions for the Western Swing, and his thoughts on what Pro Stock cars should look like. NHRA’s Alan Reinhart and host Joe Castello discuss listeners’ opinions of Pro Stock, and get ready for the Western Swing.
On WFO Radio NHRA Nitro, Pro Stock racer Drew Skillman referenced his new Super Stock Mustang. Skillman said the car “is exactly what I think a Pro Stock car should look like”. Do you agree?
Check out this sneak peak of the car that may debut at the U.S. Nationals. Skillman went on to say, “It’s a 2017 Mustang. It’s low to the ground. It’s got big rear tires on it. It looks like a car you could buy, but it also looks like a race car.”, “To me, that’s what Pro Stock should be, that’s what it was. I think you put a 5 speed in all those cars, it’s head up, if you want to run a production motor, great. If they want to stay with the 500 cubic inch stuff, great.” “I think we have to go back to real cars.”
